With four new and inexperienced players Hastings & Bexhill knew that this would be a tough match. Hove's six substitutes to Hastings one meant that fresh legs would play a key part in the game as well.
The first half saw Hove held to two tries, one early on in the half and the second from the final play of the half.
The second half started with Hove scoring two quick breakaway tries. H&B then upped their game and kept the Hove side on their try line for 15 minutes with Hove struggling to contain the onslaught from the determined Hastings side. This pressure resulted in a fine score from Jacob Routley which was converted.
Hove then upped their game and it was only determined defence and H&B U15s willingness to put their bodies on the line that prevented Hove scoring even more tries than they did.
This was H&Bs best performance of the season against one of the strongest and largest club's in the county. No man of the match was awarded as every player produced an outstanding performance and a testament to their commitment and effort to take the game to a top team, sadly the score did not reflect how tight the game was.
Well Done H&B.
