A hot Sunday saw the second warm up match of the season for the U15s, against an Uckfield side comprising of U15s and U16s players.
From the outset, it was clear that H&B were up for it and going to provide a far more improved performance from their lacklustre showing in their first warm up match against Heathfield.
An brilliant individual run from Jacob Routley gave Hastings an early try, converted by Loewy Simmons, and some outstanding tackling by Harry Walker set the tone for what was to be a dominant performance by the Hastings team.
Hastings continued their dominance with some notable individual performances from Jack Cooper, and with prop Robin Brereton along with the other forwards giving a great performance in dominating the scrums and rucks.
Jacob Routley continuing on to give a man of the match performance, getting two more tries, backed up with two further tries from Ben Davies, and two tries and three further conversions from Loewy Simmons, Hastings run away clear winners.
Uckfield Rugby Club were excellent hosts, and for a team comprising of mixed ages, Uckfield gave a good account of themselves scoring 19 points, and it was agreed they played a very fair and sporting friendly match, full credit to them.
Despite the score, it was felt by the coaches that although H&B gave an very good performance, there are still some areas to be addressed, notably, passing the ball and using more of the players around you, something the team will need to improve on before a far greater test against Brighton next week in the league. That said, well done, a great performance.
