H&B Colts trip to Eastbourne resulted in a convincing victory for the visiting side. Hastings started well with a period of pressure resulting in a penalty by man of the match Ben Lee, this was quickly followed by tries by Mathew Brammer and newcomer Liam White. Another penalty by Lee resulted in Hastings leading 16 points to nil at half time.
Immediately after half time Eastbourne capitalised on Hastings lack of concentration and scored a try that was duly converted. Hastings then had to absorb a period of
Eastbourne pressure during which both backs and forwards defended in a resolute manner. In the last quarter H&B again took the initiative with Lee dropping a goal to take H&B to a 19 points to 7 lead.
